# Role-locked Emojis

Ever wanted to lock usage of your Server's Custom Emojis behind your Roles?\
Use TwiLite's `/lock-emoji` Command to achieve your wish!

{% hint style="info" %}
The Role-locked Emojis Command is only available when adding TwiLite to Servers.
{% endhint %}

When you lock an Emoji behind a Server Role, it prevents any Server Member who does *not* have that Role from being able to use that Emoji, both in-Server and globally via Discord's Nitro subscriptions.

{% hint style="warning" %}
This also applies to those with the "Admin" Permission and the Server's Owner!\
They will need to have the Role in question too if they want to use Emojis locked behind Roles.
{% endhint %}

This makes use of the same system Discord uses for its Twitch Emotes integration (but without the need for a Twitch account obviously).

All you have to do is use `/lock-emoji` in your Server, attach your new Emoji's image file (for upload) and select a Role to lock it behind; and now your new Emoji is locked behind that Role!
